Brow Wow Specialist Brow and Beauty Bar was founded in 2014 when Megan, a young dancer from South Shields found a new passion for reshaping, regrowing and redefining the over-tweezed brows of the 90โs.
Megan was determined to provide a better future for herself and her family after a series of unfortunate events triggered by a brain condition led to her losing her home, her job and forced her to give up her degree at a top London theatre college, alongside her dream of becoming a dancer.
After several ignored job applications, Megan decided to retrain in something new and, guided by her experience of stage make-up and massage, fell into the beauty world.
Where the passion was born
Whilst studying her second year of Beauty Therapy Megan secured a job on Benefit Brow Bar and a new passion was born.
Having no experience in business, Megan turned to the Princes Trust to complete their enterprise program and work on a business plan with a mentor and in 2014, on a beauty bed from a charity shop in her mamโs kitchen, Brow Wow was born.
โAfter such a difficult time myself I just fell in love with helping people to look good and feel better about themselves with a relatively quick brow treatment. I just knew this was something I had to build on.โ
BUILDING A BUSINESS
In 2015 Megan also began offering mobile appointments and as business grew she began working from an aesthetics clinic in South Shields. This was quickly followed by a second location in Low Fell.
At first, Brow Wow was created to specialise in the art of Brow waxing, shaping and tinting alongside a range of other beauty treatments. Megan created her own formula (The Wow Brow) for a high-definition brow look which included a consultation, regrowth advice (Brow Rehab) and focused on the client’s needs.

Itโs important for everyone to feel their best and itโs amazing that we get to help with that; from our regular brow, waxing and lash clients that want to enhance what they have so they can feel amazing.
Or the mums who donโt always get the time they would like on a morning to look how they like to, to the many clients we see who have alopecia, are going through or have been through chemotherapy and just want to feel more like themselves again. Itโs the best job to be able to help our clients look good and feel better.
This is why I am so passionate about the brand me and my team have created and I hope to continue to grow to be able to reach and help more people feel the best version of themselves, when they leave the salon and every day.โ
A BROW-FOCUSSED SPACE
Brow Wow became a brow-focused space offering a more expertise treatment than a quick, standard salon wax and tint, where a clientโs brows would be mapped out according to their face shape before the tweezers came anywhere near them.
In 2016 Low fell was quickly filling to capacity and Megan took on her first employed staff member alongside another Location in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear.
During this expansion in 2017 it became apparent to Megan that those services couldnโt meet everyoneโs needs like sheโd hoped. After seeing clients going through cancer treatment and suffering with alopecia who kept coming in every week for a brow shape to be tinted onto their skin, Megan started to look into alternatives.
In 2018 Megan began a course to specialise in Microblading. 100โs of clients later and through constant research, she came across the alternative powder brow look coming in and so, in 2019, Megan furthered her training to specialise in all types of permanent cosmetic brow tattooing including ombre, hairstroke, powder and combination.
This meant Brow Wow could now offer a specialist service to every eyebrow need.
GROWTH & FUTURE
Over the last 8 years the brand has grown and grown and in 2022 Megan opened the companyโs first main brow-focused beauty salon on Low Fell high street alongside the pop-up clinics in other locations.
The plan for 2024 is to launch our journey into the world of franchising and offer more pop-up clinics and beautiful specialist Brow salons throughout the North East and other UK locations.

Megan Ruth Patrick
Brow Expert & Company Founder
Megan is a level 5 qualified Beauty Therapist, Permanent Make Up Brow Artist and Laser practitioner.
Megan was a finalist for Health and Beauty Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Megan has also recently been awarded a Top 10 in the UK Award for PMU Brows, placing 5th at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards 2024
Hannah
Salon Manager
Hannah is a Level 6 qualified all-around Beauty Therapist, Brow Expert, Lycon Waxing Specialist and Laser Practitioner.
Leoni
TEAM LEADER / SENIOR THERAPIST
Leoni is a Level 6 qualified all-around Beauty Therapist specialising in Advanced Skin Treatments, Laser and Brows!
Emily
Brow Expert & Beauty Therapist
Emily is a fully qualified Beauty Therapist, Level 5 Laser Practitioner and Lycon Waxing Professional. Emily specialises in Brows, Intimate Waxing and Laser Tattoo Removal.
Emelia
Salon Assistant / Junior Lash Tech
Emelia (Meels) is our salon assistant and a qualified Junior Lash Technician. She is currently using her skills in Classic, Hybrid and Russian Lashes. Meels is about to begin her Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification.
